For those interested in using their laptops on campus here are some
settings for the new system.

You'll need working drivers for your nic and wpa_supplicant

You can register here for your account
https://acctmgt.service.ohio-state.edu/cgi-bin/WIRE1EntryAdd

#BEGIN  /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf#
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=0
eapol_version=1
ap_scan=1
fast_reauth=1
network={
        ssid="osuwireless"
        scan_ssid=1
        key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
        eap=PEAP
# osu username.num with the w
        identity="lastname.123w"
# pin given after registration
        password="12345678"
        phase1="peaplabel=0"
        phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2"
}
#END  /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf#

example:
localhost ~ # wpa_supplicant -Dmadwifi -iath0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
where
-D<driver> -i<interface>

Should see something like:
Trying to associate with 00:14:a8:00:71:a2 (SSID='osuwireless' freq=2437
MHz)
Associated with 00:14:a8:00:71:a2
EAP-MSCHAPV2: Authentication succeeded
EAP-TLV: TLV Result - Success - EAP-TLV/Phase2 Completed
WPA: Key negotiation completed with 00:14:a8:00:71:a2 [PTK=TKIP GTK=TKIP]
