Date: 10/18/2006
Time: 7:00PM
Room: 480 Dreese Labs

Topic: Virtualization Technologies

Virtualization technologies allow a single computer to partition itself into
multiple smaller virtual machines, each capable of running its own operating
system and user applications. With recent chips from Intel and AMD,
hardware-enabled virtualization is becoming readily available not only on
servers but also on your desktop! Come and join us for a discussion of how
virtualization works and an exploration of some of the open source tools
that are driving this new technology.

Club meetings are always open to the general public including nonmembers
and nonstudents. Meetings are casual and usually last about one and a
half hours. You are welcome to attend as your schedule permits - please
be courteous when coming late or leaving early.
